I had the absolute best time during my stay in Ecuador with BuenaVida Tours & Lodging. This was truly an unforgettable experience from beginning to end.

One of the highlights was going to the local market where we learned about traditional foods and were taught how to prepare an incredible three-course meal. It was such a unique way to connect with the culture. We also hiked through the mountains and even got the chance to see condors, Ecuador’s national bird, soaring overhead. That alone was breathtaking.

We spent time exploring local shops for souvenirs and learned how to barter like the locals to get the best prices, (La Yapa). Another unforgettable moment was standing at the center of the earth where I somehow became an “egg master” by balancing an egg on a nail — something I never thought I could do!

We also visited the capital city and even witnessed the governor’s convoy passing through. The tour manager and operations manager were absolutely top-notch. I honestly don’t believe anyone in Ecuador could match their knowledge or professionalism. Whenever the weather shifted or we ran a little behind schedule, they immediately adjusted and found another great activity so the experience never missed a beat.

The night before our last day we visited Ecuador’s hot springs in Papallacta, which was an amazing and relaxing way to wind down the trip. Then we wrapped up the entire week with music, dancing, and great company. We were even given the recipe for this delicious warm drink that none of us could get enough of. The delicious, Canelazo!

Throughout the week I strengthened existing relationships and built new friendships that I will carry with me for a long time. This trip created memories I will never forget.
